Radiance (Riviera's Rhodes Scholar filly)
Regan (aka Riviera) is a 1995 black mare, 16. 1 hands by Ravallo
out of States Premium mare, Bounty by Bolero. Ravallo won his 100 day test at Medingen in
1989 with an overall score of 155, he scored a 157 for dressage and 127 for jumping. His
score has not yet been surpassed. Ravallo is by Raphael out of a Goldstein. Bounty also
produced the stallion Rienzi and many other outstanding individuals. Bounty's dam is a
full sister to the famous Celle stallion, Lanthan.
Regan was bred by Marefield Meadows, she was born in Germany and imported to the US as
a yearling. Regan was the highest scoring mare on the United States Hanoverian Inspection
tour in 1998 with a score of 7.8. Dr. Bade and Ludwig Christmann of the German Verband
stated that she is the ideal modern Hanoverian that breeders should try to produce. She
also was the Champion Young Horse at the Hanoverian Mare Show at Woodvale Farm in 1998.
Regan successfully completed her mare performance test in 1998 earning her Elite Mare
title. Regan earned a 9 on her walk and an 8 on her type and trot at her inspection. She
earned an 8 for rideability and an 8 for her canter at her Mare Performance test.
She then
went on to be Reserve Champion mare at the May, 1999 Morven Park Dressage Breed Show. In
June, she was the Champion Mare, Champion Mature Horse, Overall Champion of the Show and
qualified for the USDF Breeders Series to be held at Dressage at Devon in September of
1999. In July, at Dressage at Lexington, she was the Reserve Champion mare and won the
huge Hanoverian IBC class of 24 entries beating all of the show champions with the highest
score of the day of 84 points. She is currently in light dressage training
for 2001 and is also in foal to Rhodes Scholar.
Regan gave birth to a black filly by Donnerwetter this past Spring.
The filly looked exactly like Regan. Regan gave birth to a lovely,
dark bay Rhodes Scholar filly in Summer of 2002.
Regan finished her first show season under saddle in 2004 at 3rd level
after returning to work from broodmare career. Regan earned 5th place
in the VADA/NOVA Year End Award Championships at 3rd level. Regan also
earned 5th place for the VADA State Awards at 3rd level.
Regan finished 5th at 3rd level
for Hanoverian All Breeds awards for 2005 USDF Year End Awards. She
also successfully competed at 4rth level earning a 3rd place at Lexington
her first time out. She qualified for the ABIG's and
placed 6th at the Championships.
